When to seek emergency medical attention.

COVID-19 produces different symptoms for different people. While most people can be treated at a clinic or walk-in center, it’s time to go to the Emergency Department if you experience any of the following symptoms: difficulty breathing, persistent pressure or pain in your chest, new confusion, extreme sleepiness, or your lips or face begin turning blue. Proceed to the Emergency Department immediately or call 911. Be sure to wear a mask to protect first responders.

How does COVID-19 spread?

The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.

  • Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).

  • Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks.

  • These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

COVID-19 may be spread by people who are not showing symptoms.
